Luis Colon

Luis has several years experience in the filmmaking field. Starting out as a production assistant for the HBO original programming “Subway Stories” in 1996 where he learned a great deal having worked with many talented filmmakers such as Spike Lee, Abel Ferrera, Ted Demme, Gregory Hines, etc…

Mr. Colon was born to Puerto Rican parents in Brooklyn, NY, and is the youngest of eight children. Luis is fluent in both English and Spanish. As a young boy, Luis was always fascinated by the world of motion pictures.

During his school years, he attended Queens Vocational Technical High School in Long Island City, NY where he majored in business administration.

After graduating from High School, Mr. Colon attended Hunter College where his filmmaking journey began. He graduated in 1999 with a B.A in film production. During his time at Hunter College, he worked on numerous independent projects outside of school as a grip/electric and director of photography.

He wrote and directed his first short film entitled "The Heights" and edited all before taking a film production course. Mr. Colon also wrote and directed another short and directed a music video for an up and coming rap artist.

In addition to writing and directing two shorts, Mr. Colon has written another feature which is currently being produced with production slated to begin in 2008.

He incorporated his company Eighth Son Productions, Inc in early 2008 in order to produce his feature film entitled "Unlawful Justice", which is currently in development.
