Personal Profile

Neil Rolland

Neil Rolland is a writer/director/creative residing in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Neil decided he wanted to make films the night he saw Donnie Darko at the Cameo Cinema in Edinburgh on the Halloween of 2002. In the middle of a degree at the time that was going no where, Neil decided to drop out and go back to college.

Neil has studied TV Production and Film at Stevenson College Edinburgh, Falmouth College of Arts in Cornwall and finally graduating from Queen Margaret University Edinburgh.

After becoming disillusioned with the 'industry' and loosing confidence in himself, he decided to quit filmmaking. Two difficult years followed but through the encouragement of friends, an arguement with Paddy Considine and the realisation that he could be whoever he wanted to be, Neil has come back with a stronger passion and a more focused and individual vision for the kind of filmmaking artist he would like to become.
