Yama Rauf

Yama Rauf is an indie film and TV director and script writer, born on 1 Nov 1987 in Afghanistan, Mazar-I-Sharif. His most-recent film as director is No Woman. Yama is also engaged with building a media production company called Koroosh Production, a space for Afghan open-minded and secret talented youth, a place that dozen of boys and girl were working and practicing voice acting, narrations, documentary and short filmmaking, despite working as a paid employee. As a co-founder and director of the Koroosh Productions, he taught, empowered and spread talented youngsters to different TV and Radio stations in Afghanistan. Yama has worked as general program director and program advisor at Arezo TV, one of the major TV channels based in North of Afghanistan. He has also been a co-founder of Khawar HD, a local TV in Mazar-I-Sharif.
Yama started writing poems and stories when aged nine and started making amateur action and comedy films when aged 17.
Yama has BA degree in TV Journalism and filmmaking, and creative writing is his intense passion as a profession.
