Pedro Sena Nunes

Born in Lisbon in May of 1968. Pedro Sena Nunes began by studying Economics, Electronics and Geology, in 1987 at the Institute of Engineering of Lisbon (ISEL) where he attended the Engineering Machinery course. In 1992 finished his cinema degree on School of Theatre and Film (ESTC) in Lisboa, focusing his studies on image.

Continued his cinema studies in different European schools, in 1993 at Centre Calassança – Barcelona (Spain) in association with Université Lumiére 2 - Lyon (France), between ’94 and 95 he was selected to attend at I Visions - European Course of achievement in documentary that was held in between Academy Konrad Wolf (HFF) - Potsdam (Belgium), Netherlands Film and Television Academy (NFTA) – Amsterdam (The Nederlands) and Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) – Prague (Czech Republic).

Since 1998 he is Artistic Director of the Association Vo'Arte, where he coordinates various training projects and internships with emerging young designers, produces films and performandes, designs and co-coordinating transdisciplinary projects with Ana Rita Barata (coreographer and also director of Vo’Arte) and is responsible for programming some of Interdisciplinary Dance and Film Festivals – InShadow – International Festival of Video, Performance and Technology, Olhares Frontais– Encontros de Viana, InArte – International Meetings of Inclusion through Art, Arte Non Stop and Lugar à Dança.
