Laurie Townshend

Laurie Townshend, BSc, OCT is an exceptionally passionate and resourceful filmmaker with a creative drive to write and document stories that capture the extraordinary spirit of young people.

As a writer and director of corporate documentaries and special event videos, Laurie has penned and shot hundreds of compelling stories on subjects as diverse as children living with HIV/AIDS (Beneath the Mask, Teresa Group) to the impact immigrant status has on the health of children (A Culture of Care, Sick Kids Hospital). No matter how familiar or arcane the subject, it is Laurie’s singular goal to follow her curiosity, allowing her pen and her camera lens to locate the truths behind human pain, resilience, and triumph.
