Personal Profile

Carla Granat

Carla Granat has had a wide range of experiences in her life, from social work with an adoption agency, to public relations, to ten years as the director of a Seattle theatre group. Her first exposure to film was at age 15, when she developed x-rays in a dentist’s office. That job ended traumatically after she walked in on a new development between the dentist and his nurse; decades later, having recovered her equilibrium, she returned to film, her unrequited love, and began to tell stories for her clients and the nonprofit organizations she worked with. In 1999, she shot and edited her first short documentary, and she hasn't turned back since!
