Harold Chapman

Since graduating from the Northern Film and Television School in Leeds and also the Netherlands Film & Television Academy Harry has divided his time between developing his writing and directing projects as well as working professionally as a Production Designer.

As Designer he has worked on commercials, music videos, feature films, and Emmy and BAFTA nominated docudramas. As a writer he has also written a novel and original feature screenplay, ‘Tribes’ and was selected by the Film Council to attend the film mentoring course run by ‘Arista’ to write the feature screenplay ‘Stillwater’. He is currently developing a feature project based on some of the ideas and characters in his latest short film ‘Invisible’. This was screened recently at the British Academy of Film and Television together with the short documentary, ‘Sweep’ about London street sweepers. Both films were a resounding success and played to a packed house.

He has also directed a number of music promos and short films including the award-winning ‘Maestro’. In the last couple of years he has also begun to explore the medium of documentary as a way of telling stories. He has self-shot a documentary for a children’s charity based in the Palestinian West Bank entitled, ‘Journeys Around Bethlehem’ and earlier last year he self-shot a documentary for a Church Mission Hospital based in the Yemen, entitled, ‘Yemen in Focus’. ‘Sweep’ is his latest film shot in this medium of documentary.
