José Simões

Born in Mozambique, Beira one year and four days after the "Revolução dos Cravos". Graduated in Fine Arts – Sculpture, in the Fine Arts Faculty of Oporto University – Portugal. Signed in Master of Urban Design: Art, City, Society in the Fine Arts Faculty of of Barcelona University - Spain.
A sculptor, graphic/illustration artist, installation artist, video artist and photographer, live and work in Oporto, professor in Balleteatro. A Artist Residency - ARTweek in Artis Den Bosch, Netherlands, about Activism with the People Power Pill Project, (2). Video DOP (development of participation)
An Effective and sustainable environmental project (19-24 February 2009, Benevento - Italy). Focused on Video Arts activities to increase Cultural Exchange, Social Inclusion and the Awareness about our Environment.
Editor of the art magazine [up]arte, university of Fine Arts of Oporto. Collaborator in the Border Control Set Design, with Casa da Música and the Fine Art School of Oporto.
