Personal Profile

Fernando Leal

I was born in 1970. Married and father of a son. I studied Graphic Design at Anahuac University in 1990. In 1994, I was hired as junior art director at Leo Burnett advertising agency. Next year I got myself into McCann Erickson, where I spent 11 years, one of them, 1999, at the New York office. In 2004 I was promoted Creative Group Director, and in 2006 I left advertising for good. I entered Top Films production house as animation director. It was around that time that I started to learn Maya, After Effects, Anime Studio and Photoshop in order to bring to life all those characters and stories I had created since I was a child. I now animate both commercial and independent stuff. I have won a couple of prizes and recognitions in my short career as animator, and have invited to be part of a visual artist collective in Gasteig Museum ay Munich for 3 years in a row.
