Biography: Diek Grobler
Diek Grobler obtained his BA Fine Arts degree from the University of Pretoria in 1987 and his Masters Degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1996. He has exhibited extensively in South Africa, as well as internationally in South Korea, London, Paris and Amsterdam. He started exploring animation in 2000, and has created several ‘art’ animations, music video’s and animated clips for live performance and television. In 2004 he establishes Fopspeen Moving Pictures, which specialises in stop-motion animation. The company creates three short films: “Little Bang”, “Agenda” and “Little Birds ABC”.

In 2007 he conceptualised and animated a series, The Finer Things, for Speedy Productions, South Africa, which was awarded Best Short Form Audiovisual Entertainment Made for Mobile and Internet; Factual, at MIPCOM 2007, Cannes.
