Personal Profile

Jay Molloy

Jay Molloy has worked in the film industry in Toronto for over a decade as a scenic carpenter. Having worked on the set of noted directors such as Vincenzo Natali, Bruce McDonald and George A. Romero, Jay attended the greatest film school there is; the one where they pay you to show up for class. He took in everything he could and made connections in all departments on set with the plan that one day he would call on them to work on his own film project.
In 2007, Jay wrote, produced and directed his first short, “Split” exploiting many friends and contacts in the process. He currently is shopping around two feature scripts, a horror entitled “County Rd. 16” and a comedy, “Guitarded” which follows the events of Canada’s first National Air Guitar Championships.
