Elements of Rehearsal in the Bleak Midwinter

In the bleak midwinter, a young group of Estonian non-professional actors explores the constituent elements of theatre and life.

Film notes

A 15 minutes minimalist summa of theatre art: threshold, space, voice, body, craziness, and crisis.

Director’s Statement:
I have been inspired by Erving Goffmann’s essay The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life and Kenneth Branagh’s comedy In the Bleak Midwinter. The movie tries to explore the dual nature of life and theatre art.
