Higher Values

Two small village children come across a complex situation and discover the natural instinct of spontaneous human values. A young school going child is being beaten up by his class teacher and asked to come back to school only after completing his homework; this is highly impossible because the village is facing drought, there’s little or no food to eat and buying a homework book happens to be the least priority. Having nowhere to go, the child tries to find solitude at the remote village temple. Another poor child of the village; orphan, cannot speak (but is capable of humming) and is a non-optional beggar. Instead of getting something to eat, this child is abused, insulted and cursed. The last resource yet again, was nowhere but the village temple, that gave him a small ray of hope.

Film notes
