Film notes

Director Statement
"Aquarius" was part of a film project, that was filmed in summer of 2012. Goal of the project was to shoot four short movies simultaneously - on the same location, with the same crew. And not only that: Even the equipment and catering were shared through the four movies, so it was possible, to shoot on a very small budget.

The topic of the four movies was "Illness", for they were produced on location in a hospital. But every movie understood the topic differently. From the lighthearted Comedy, through a grown-up Horrormovie, up to the experimental drama that is "Aquarius".

The project is and was part of the german filmmaker-group "Rostocker Schule", that translates to "Rostock Style" as well as "School", for it is a teach and learn network with one of the most famous schools of acting in Germany.

Production Notes
The movie was made without a dialogue script, as it was developed together with the actors during the rehearsals and the shooting. Therefore much of the one week on set was spent for further rehearsals.

The scene at the bed, when he is telling her the story of her sister, was actually fully improvised and recreated in the editing process.
