A young couple in a park comes across a mysterious man who claims to be an expert falconer. The encounter will become a test for the young people, as they start to share the hope that the peregrine falcon -Durandal - will return to his master’s fist.

Film notes

Durandal is a film about faith or, if preferred, about the place where illusions breathe when reality deprives us the air. To do this, we set a simple story, portraying the meeting of two disparate generations: while Antonio is a broken toy from the 80’s, a ghost destined to wander from bar to bar, trying to convince everybody of his glorious past as a falconer, Ruben and Gema reflect a disaffected youth, that longs for the resources to fight apathy and the current lack of opportunities. Our short film wants to take part in the fantasies of a romantic, a wanderer inviting us to dream of possibilities and who is able to close, with his story, the gap between two young lovers; indeed, frecuently, it’s contradictory and lost men those who travel with the best stories on their lips.
