Maimie's New Baby

The isolation and loneliness of an elderly mother with dementia and Alzheimer's contrasts with her ever strong, inherent, everlasting maternal instincts.

Film notes

"Maimie's New Baby" is based on a true story of an elderly mother (Maimie), who faces the daily isolation and daily challenges of living with Alzheimer's and dementia. One day, Maimie discovers an image of a young child in a local newspaper and begins to talk, interact and sing to the young child in the photo as if it was real! The film is a celebration of strong maternal instincts and love for children that prevails over ageing and solitude.
