Film notes

"Ada" is a simple but powerful movie in which we tell the experiences of who may be the last girl on the surface of the earth, after an ecological upheaval. Ada speaks not only about the loss of innocence, but also about the pain of recognizing the human condition and its loneliness. It is a story written from a need to wake up and offer our hand to those around us, before it is too late.

Ada is a very special project for us, not only because of its value as an individual story and what it represents, but also as a member of a vast microcosmos we, the Alastruey brothers, are building with every new feature and short film, almost unconsciously. In this occasion the original language of the film is Basque, one of the oldest languages still spoken in Europe. Even though we do not want to repeat characters, common episodes and places from one tale to the next, Ada has got seeds of future stories inside, and traces of others we have already told.
