Short Film Profile

Street Art and Reality

Three street artists are painting on Hanbury Street, Brick Lane. The main image is of a destitute mother and child. Behind the facade of the building being painted are living homeless Romanians, amongst rubbish and without running water. The very subject of the artists' painting sadly proves itself a reality in 201st century London, the financial capital of the world. The artists are Joseph Loughborough, Ben Slow and Joe Deane. Their piece changed the street. Everyone who passed - young and old, local or tourist - responded warmly and related to it.
