Short Film Profile

Hay Pinhod Oh Ya Scooter

A 10-year old Ifugao boy named Gum-o is the son of a well-known wooden scooter-maker in Banaue. He was orphaned by his father at the age of two, and now lives with his mother, and a pig named Pukok.
On his way home one day, Gum-o sees Ma-ay, the pretty Ifugao girl he had always admired, who delivers bottles of chili powder to a grocery storeowner. Overhearing their conversation, Gum-o learns that Ma-ay would like to have a bicycle to help in her peddling. Eager to impress her, Gum-o visits Tomas, his father’s loyal friend at work, and convinces him to help him make a wooden scooter.
