Short Film Profile

Ryan, a young blind boy, asks his Dad, "What can you see?"

Film notes

Blind was predominantly filmed in one day in the small village of Tholthorpe, which is situated in Yorkshire, England. It is the first of five short film projects that writer/director Mike Ritchie undertook in 2009.

The majority of the film was shot on HDV using a 35mm lens adapter, with some sequences shot on Super 8 film. The Super 8 footage was shot on the Yorkshire coastline at 4am on a chillly spring morning. Director, Mike Ritchie said: β€œIt took two attempts, and it required a delicate balance of the right weather conditions, tide patterns and availability, but it was worth it!”.

All of the cast, crew and post production people are from Yorkshire, England, dipping into the wide vareity of film making talent available in the region.
