Short Film Profile

Carpa Diem

An apartment. Bedtime. A little girl lovingly watches a fish (a carp) swimming in an aquarium, while her younger brother is playing in the bathroom, listening to music and letting the water run in the sink. A waste of water that could turn into tragedy...

Film notes

To remedy as soon as possible.
Or better “a run against time”.
This is the most important and delicate bet that we are forced to accept as human beings.
Last century offered us, as we can say, an uncomfortable heritage.
Since about 70 years, the technological growth in all sectors, has allowed nowadays a good life to a big portion of the worldwide population. But at what price? A nice balance has been schocked by a wild progress that did not keep into consideration all the possible damages to heart.
“Carpa Diem” wishes to shake the consciences with a surrealistic approach by dealing with the phenomenon of wasting resources, in particular the most precious one: water.
A small daily gesture which, multiplied by billions people, could contribute to the saving of this precious resource, not only for human beings but for the planet itself.
If we are inattentive, we will deny to future generation the possibility to continue being hosted by this WONDERFUL PLANET.
