Ádel Kháder

Ádel Kháder was born in Tenerife 30 years ago. In 1997, he moved to Malaga, where he began his studies in Telecommunications Engineering, majoring in Sound and Image. He combined his degree with audiovisual training, courses in the Faculty of Communication Sciences, and workshops, seminars and productions led by local film directors.

In the advertising sphere, his work has won him acknowledgement and prizes at the national level, including: second prize at the 4th Certamen Jóvenes Cerebros (“Young minds awards”) 2005 and first prize at the same awards in 2006. He was also short-listed for three consecutive years at the International Advertising awards of the Madrid Experimental Film Festival.

That same year, he directed his first short film, Línea 57 (“Line 57") and collaborated with Gaby Beneroso and Enrique de la Vega in productions such as Cristales habitados ("Inhabited crystals"), Válido para un baile (“Valid for a dance“) (35 mms.), Capitales (“Capital cities“) and a commercial for the Reading Promotion Campaign of the Andalusian Regional Government. Also in 2006, he directed the documentary named Personas libro ("Book-people").

He changed register and produced in Testamento Vienés (“Viennese Will”), a play on the life of painter Egon Schiele. In the audiovisual field, and from that moment onwards under the aegis of his production company, Infodel Media, he directed two new short films, La bohème and Inseparables ("Inseparable") (Madrid in the series of short films Capitales). The first of these was selected for the official section of film festivals in Italy, Chile, Morocco and Spain and its original version in French has been translated into seven languages.

In 2008 he worked on two full-length films “Littoral, light on the shore” and “The Minutes of silence". At the age of 28, he shot his first full-length film in 35mm: Reconciliación (“Reconciliation").
