Maria Stanisheva

Maria Stanisheva (1980) is a director/producer born in Sofia, graduate of Sofia University, Central European University and New York Film Academy's Documentary Filmmaking program (2012). An experienced producer of animated films, Maria has recently expanded her film interests as an independent documentary filmmaker.
Filmography includes the animated Media & Diversity campaign used by the British Council in over 30 countries. In 2008 together with Vessela Dantcheva and Ivan Bogdanov Maria launched Compote Collective, an art collective promoting the individual styles of 15 animation artists from 5 countries. As a producer, her first international animated documentary coproduction Father (2012) is taking part in over 30 film festivals and has already been awarded 6 times. Between Earth and Sky is Maria's graduation documentary project.
