Thiago Luciano

The director Thiago Luciano was born on January 13th of 1980 in Brazil. He graduated in a drama school. In 2001, he created the Experimental Film Nucleus in partnership with Fausto Noro. In 2002, he directed with his partner Beto Shultz his first short film “Power and Faith”, which has been awarded as best short, best actor and best original sound in some festivals around Brazil. In 2004, he was responsible for the video making of a very successful play that mixed film and theater. Later on, in 2007 he started to shoot his first feature film “A day in the past”, which was also his first script, and he directed it together with his partner Beto Shultz. The film won Best Soundtrack in the Latino Film Festival in Paraná, Brazil and was also in the official selection of the 33rd São Paulo Film Festival. The film won Best Picture by the Jury in the Beverly Hills HD Film Festival. At the end of its post production he started shooting “Not Guilty”, a short film that he has been working on since 2006. “Not Guilty” ran on the official selection in the LALIFF Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival. This short is still around in other festival. And now he is releasing his new film “This is not the story of Gregor Samsa” based on the book “The Metamorphose” by Franz Kafka.
