Chris King is a multi-award winning filmmaker and three-time Emmy nominated television writer/producer. He began his film and television studies at California State University, Long Beach. After completing his B.A., he worked at Sony Pictures Entertainment as a material writer and researcher. Simultaneously, Chris worked as a freelance scriptwriter. His feature-length screenplays have garnered national attention in The Nicholl Fellowship, the Chesterfield Film Project, Fade In Magazine, and HBO’s Project Greenlight.
His feature-length film Touching Down received numerous film festival awards and nominations, including both Best Picture and Audience Awards at the Sacramento Intl Film & Music Festival, Best Actress and Best Breakout Performance nominations for his lead actress at the Method Fest Film Festival, and the Bronze REMI Award at WorldFest-Houston.
His first short film Awakening played such festivals as Gloria International, Spiritual Cinema Festival at Sea, and the European Spiritual Film Festival. It was picked up for world distribution by The Spiritual Cinema Circle and has played in over 70 countries. Stephen Simon, producer of the Oscar-winning film What Dreams May Come, calls Awakening “A fascinating, moving and poignant film.”
Chris's other short films include "Life" and "Rachel". He just wrapped his latest short called "The Killing of Mary Surratt." Chris lives with his wife Heather and their two daughters in California.
