Lorenzo Pomari

Lorenzo was born and raised in Locarno, Switzerland. He begins attending college at the Università della Svizzera Italiana (U.S.I.) in Lugano, where he studies Communication Sciences. In 2009 he graduates with a thesis of critical analysis about the film “V for Vendetta”. Before starting a Master Program, Lorenzo decides to improve his English level and attends two different language schools in Boston and San Francisco. This incredible experience gives him the chance to get in touch with students from all over the world, getting to know foreign and fascinating cultures.

In 2011 he decides to devote his life to filmmaking; he first attends the 4-week workshop in filmmaking organized by the New York Film Academy (N.Y.F.A.) in Florence, and then begins the Master Of Fine Arts in Filmmaking program, which takes place in New York City and Los Angeles. In September 2013 he graduates with a final GPA of 3.65. During the two years spent at N.Y.F.A., he has had the chance to gather a lot of experience in almost every position on set, with a preference for Assistant Camera and Camera Operator.

While in film school, Lorenzo had the opportunity to write and direct a few short-films. As a film director, he learned a great deal in that period.

Although only recently he decided to devote himself to filmmaking, Lorenzo has always been passionate about Cinema. Thanks to the Locarno International Film Festival, which is held in his hometown every year, he learned to love Cinema from all over the world. He has been a member of the Youth Jury for Feature Films in the 2004 edition.

Lorenzo currently lives in Los Angeles and works as a Freelance Filmmaker.
