Except for a year in Paris, Jakob has lived all his life in Stockholm. As a boy, he wanted to be a cartoon artist, then he turned to music and played the drums in local rock bands, dreaming of becoming a rock 'n' roll star. Later, after a couple of years at the university studying (among other things) literature and philosophy, Jakob finally turned to film where he found "home". He went on to study scriptwriting for three years and graduated in 2011. "A Night To Remember", which is Jakob's directorial debut (in film – he also directed a play in Stockholm in the winter of 2010), is a film about social stress and people trying to be something they are not. So far, that's a theme that Jakob keeps coming back to in his writing: how we lie and do stupid things to protect or achieve social status. Jakob is currently doing a master course in TV-series at the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts (2012).
