Nuno Matos

Nuno Matos has always developed a great interest in Animation. During his studies at the University he had his first real contact in this area. In the 4th year of University he had the chance to produce some short animation films which enabled him to develop some techniques such as Stop-Motion and Flash. These short films opened his mind even more to the interest in this area and intensified his will to develop skills in Animation.

From September 2008 till February 2009 he was given a scholarship, through the Leonardo da Vinci Program, by The Porto University, to do an internship in a Graphic Design Studio, in Stockholm, Sweden. During his internship he had the chance to work in Animation. He became part of a team to develop a work for a Swedish bank, SEB, whose goal was to make an advertising publicity. Its length was 30 seconds, handmade drawings were made by him and then where animated through the program After Effects. That experience was really a challenge and very gratifying as this Advertising Publicity received an award for the best “Corporate TV & Video” in the “European Excellence Awards 2008”.

Hand to Hand to these activities, Nuno Matos works in Modeling, creating figures in Fimo Material. His skills in modeling lead him, during this internship, to create the figures of all the elements of the team, in Stockholm, and animate them in order to be used in the Showreel of the studio.
His last experience with animation was a profissional internship of nine months on RTP, public broadcast station, the number 1 TV channel in Portugal. There he created the show “Vidal and the History of Portugal”, directing and animating the pilot episode in Stop Motion Animation for a young audience.
