Born in Taipei, Chun-Yi Hsieh is an M.F.A candidate at NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia’s Graduate Film program. Based in Taiwan. Aiming to make movies with humanistic values and cultural expression, he focuses on stories discussing the issues and relationships among people. His films have been screened by many international film festivals including Tribeca and Melbourne. Chun-Yi is currently developing his thesis short “Cold Feet”, about the hesitation of a man who is about to marry his pregnant fiancé. Also in development is a documentary project about the brutal pet dog business in Taiwan, as well as two feature scripts – a road-trip romance and a gangster redemption story.
