Alison Sterling started her working life as an actress, having trained at Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She started producing for the theatre, before turning to film and television production, forming her own company, Ignition Films, in 2000. She has produced documentaries and one-off dramas, corporates and commercials, interactive DVDs and artist’s installation works. At the core of her work, though, is fiction: over the last 6 years she has produced 9 short films (for UK Film Council, BBC, South West Screen) including BAFTA-nominated Turning by Karni and Saul. She has developed feature film scripts with a range of writers (with development funding through South West Screen and Cornwall Film). Her first feature film, Flying Blind, has been greenlit through the microbudget financing scheme, iFeatures, and is due to go into production later this year with award winning director Katarzyna Klimkiewicz at the helm.
