Jon Vatne—born and raised in Trondheim, Norway—is a documentary filmmaker with experience from TV news broadcasting. After receiving a BA in Digital Media Technologies from Gjøvik University College, Jon worked as a video journalist, camera person and editor for local and national TV. In 2010 he earned his Graduate Certificate in Documentary Media Studies from The New School University. Personal Velocity is Jon’s directing debut and was inspired from his experience of moving to New York, buying a bike, and encountering the city’s frantic traffic first hand. Jon is currently earning a MA in Documentary Film Directing from Lillehammer University College.
