With new profiles added to Short Film Central every day, we now have over 4,000 short films, 2,800 film festivals and events, 1,300 companies and 14,000 people listed. The design of our profile pages has made Short Film Central one of the top search results when searching for short films with most search engines in many countries.
Our most frequent visitors are filmmakers and film festival organisers. Individual filmmakers, film schools and production companies come to promote their films, announce awards and upcoming screenings and find the best events at which to screen their films. Film festivals, distributors and broadcasters come to find new, popular, interesting and relevant short films for screening or representation.
To help connect our increasing number of users, we recently introduced a film submission service for events which do not charge entry fees. Film festivals and events can use it to easily invite films to screen at their events and filmmakers can submit to those events with just a few clicks on their event profiles. The service is now all-inclusive to events with an active membership, allowing you to manage entries, plan programming and download film data. There are no fees for filmmakers to use the service. Other events which use another submission service have the option to display their submission link on their event profiles.
Over the past few years, filmmakers have used Short Film Central to promote their films all the way through from initial release to festival screenings and then to sales. Sales are most successful when a film is most in the public eye, whether at festivals or in the news. If someone loves your film which they just saw at a festival, where can they get a copy? If you're a filmmaker, distributor, film school or other company handling your own sales, you can make your film available on DVD or Blu-ray on your film profile, on your own terms. If your film is available elsewhere, we may also be able to link to those products. And while most film owners don't want their full film online, you can choose to show your film on your profile too.
We're always working to maintain Short Film Central as a leading resource for promoting short films, the people who make them and the events which screen them. If you haven't yet discovered our Advanced search feature, it can help you find exactly what you're looking for by searching on many criteria, whether it be a film on a particular subject, a film festival in your area, a production company or a screenwriter, etc. Your feedback is always welcome so we can continue make Short Film Central more useful for you.
