Information
Short Film Central provides a system for short-filmmakers, companies and events to promote themselves and their films. The information displayed for the short films, filmmakers, events and companies listed on this website is provided both by us and by the owners of those entities. We make an effort to ensure the accuracy of any information we enter ourselves, and when profile owners request to edit a profile, we require them to warrant that they are authorized to provide the information. We encourage the profile owners to keep their information up to date, but we do not guarantee or warrant the accuracy, completeness or currency of the information provided. We will not be liable for any content which you may find offensive, indecent, harmful, defamatory, innacurate or deceptive, but we will gladly receive comments about such content to help us improve the quality of the information provided.
Adding and Editing Content
If you are a filmmaker, company or event involved in the production or exhibition of short films, you are encouraged to use this website to promote yourself, your short films, your festival/event or company. When adding a new profile, or editing and existing profile, you warrant that you are authorized to provide the information, and you further warrant that the information you provide is true and accurate. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to display the information on this website, and in other media for the purposes of promoting the website. We will endevour to inform you of any extraordinary usage, or seek your permission for any usage beyond this website. All submitted content goes into an update queue and will usually be displayed on the public profile within 24 hours.
We do not wish to censor any content, so when providing information, please consider that this website has a very broad audience. We reserve the right to withhold or remove any content for any reason, or we may consult with you about editing the information before it is displayed.
To ensure that all awards displayed on film profiles are valid, when you enter an award for your film you must provide proof of that award. Proof should preferably be in the form of a direct web address to a page on an official festival website listing their awards, or if that is not available (e.g. past events without a record on the web), you can provide proof in some other form.
Rating and Reviewing Short Films
You are encouraged to give feedback to filmmakers by rating and reviewing short films which you have seen. You must be logged in to write a review, and your username will be displayed with the review. You have the option of also displaying your full name with the review or not. See the Privacy Policy for more information about your personal details. All reviews go into an update queue and will usually be displayed on the public film profile within 24 hours.
We do not wish to censor your comments, so when writing reviews, please consider that this website has a very broad audience. We reserve the right to withhold or remove any content for any reason, or we may consult with you about editing your review before it is displayed.

Pricing
All films available on this website are the property of their respective owners, and we provide a service to sell them on behalf of the film owners. Prices for the films on a Make-Your-Own Compilation DVD are set by and remitted to their owners, and we add an assembly fee for making each DVD. Prices and availability of all products are subject to change without notice.
Licensing
Film products purchased from this site may only be used for private, personal use, unless you select the option to licence the films for library/lending/educational purposes in the shopping cart. There are additional fees for this licence, but it will permit you to keep the product in a library for lending purposes, or to screen it for educational purposes. This licence does not include permission to screen the films in public. If you wish to screen the films at a public event, you will need permission from the individual filmmakers and distributors - please contact us and we will help you arrange that.
Copyright
All products are protected by international copyright laws, and any unauthorized copying, editing, public exhibition, renting, exchanging, hiring, lending, diffusion or broadcast of any part of films contained on the products is strictly prohibited.
Payment
We currently use PayPal to process payments. Your PayPal account details or credit card details are entered on PayPal's secure website, not on ours, and those details are not made available to us. You are returned to Short Film Central when you complete or cancel a payment on the PayPal website. PayPal services many countries and regions, but if you cannot use PayPal in your country, please contact us to discuss alternative payment arrangements.
Your receipt of an order confirmation from us does not signify our acceptance of that order, and we may cancel the order if the products ordered are not available to ship to certain areas, or for any other reason. In this case, any payment you have made will be refunded in full.
Return Policy
Our Make-Your-Own Compilation DVD product has been tested to ensure the highest possible quality and compatibility with a wide range of DVD players, however we cannot be held liable if any player does not play a DVD's contents correctly. We may, at our sole discretion, refund or replace your purchase if a DVD exhibits a repeatable fault on several DVD players. We will not refund or replace any DVD product which has been damaged by improper storage or handling after receipt. Please do not return any product before contacting us. We will only accept returns if you contact us within 30 days of the shipping date, and after we have forwarded to you our returns instructions.
Recordable DVD
Our Make-Your-Own Compilation DVD product is made on-demand using DVD+R recordable DVDs. With proper storage in a cool, dark, dry place, and with careful handling to prevent marks and scratches on the data side of the disc, these DVDs should play without fault for many years. If after the 30 day return period your DVD ceases to play properly, we may, at our sole discretion, agree to send you a duplicate copy of your original DVD for the cost of assembly, materials and postage only, i.e. you will not have to pay for the films again, just the DVD preparation and postage. If you wish to order a duplicate DVD of a previous order, please contact us. Note that some or all films on a Make-Your-Own Compilation DVD may be protected by our copy-protection technology which prevents duplication of the contents of the disc containing those films.
Selling Products
You're invited to make your short film available to our visitors on our Make-Your-Own Compilation DVD system. We will make a separate Film Sales Agreement with you before making your film available, but to summarize, we only need to acquire a non-exclusive licence, you can set the price for your film, change its availability at any time, restrict sales by territory and view your sales reports online at any time. For more information, log in, go to your Product Sales menu, and click the link to Add a DVD Product, or contact us.
