Fun in the Sun
Shooting 6 hours drive from Sydney in old-growth rainforest and 45 minutes drive from any town, the crew arrived at location on an unusually dry day after an unprecedented 6 months of almost continuous rain. The ground was a red clay, that anyone who stepped out of their car, not prepared with the gum boots issued to them by production, instantly ended up calf-deep in a red mud that required all body strength to pull buried feet out of! There were many instantly ruined “city” shoes!
But it wasn’t only feet that got buried, every single production car, from sedans, to four-wheel rive trucks and four-tonnes lighting trucks had to be winched out the mud, some buried for days up to their bumper bars!
