Privkus

A foreign woman living in the labyrinths of Petrograd faces the fact that she is not able to find a comprehension of the strange feeling created by her environment. The metaphysics of the town always makes her sense The Aftertaste of being - an aftertaste she tries to suppress with sweets and music.

Film notes

The film “Aftertaste” is inspired by the atmosphere in the city of Petrograd (St-Petersburg was called so between 1914-1924.)
A spiritual boom of those years and neglect to the limitation of physical world revealed the essence of the city’s culture.
When a stranger finds himself in the labyrinths of Petrograd he constantly senses inexplicable anxiety, as a presence on the thin verge with an unseeing reality.

In my films I research into possibilities of cinematography to imprint metaphysical aspects of every day life.
