Chaque Jour est une Petite Vie

Living in a modest caravan amongst the tower blocks in a council estate on the Mediterranean coast, Rachel, 80 years old, dreams of returning to her native Algeria. Her son Simon doesn’t want to know anything about it. Stella, her grand-daughter, describes them as “A really awful family”. Fortunately they are surrounded by the good humour of Yazid, alias Gino, and the entire neighbourhood.

Film notes

A vision of the suburbs, with their warmth, vivacity, and rich human diversity.

After several private screenings, we have observed genuine enthusiasm for "Chaque jour est une petite vie". Working class audiences appreciate the balanced, sensitive and true reflection we have given of their world. People from wealthier backgrounds thank us for having changed their view of “estates”. Most people laugh, feel moved and are delighted to find tenderness in places where media and films often portray only violence.

It‘s a film that we would like to distribute widely because it gives a positive and alternative view of the "suburbs". The suburbs of our film are a warm and lively environment which is full of the poetry. This is the place Albane Fioretti remembers from her childhood and as it still is today. It was precisely for this reason that the actor Johan Libereau selected our film as his “carte blanche” for the opening evening of the “Un poing c'est court" festival. And we hope to find other distributors who share his point of view and our sincerity.
