‘What do you say when people call you an idiot, Son?’ Tell them: ‘I’m not an idiot. I just think differently from others.’ A dim-witted but well-meaning son embarks on an unrelenting mission to claim the $6,000 government handout, his quest joined by his mother, a pillar of strength who finds the silver lining in the darkest of clouds. Fighting disabilities and cancer with their chins up, mother and son meander through the city against a tide of indifferent faces and distant eyes and arrive in a park, where blissful tranquillity and a ray of sunshine await them.
