A Royal Commission

To celebrate 60 years of the reign of Elizabeth II in 2012, the Canadian government
commissioned a new portrait of the Queen to Canadian artist Phil Richards. Here is the making of the Queen’s portrait, until its unveiling in London and its installation at Rideau Hall, Ottawa. While the features of Elizabeth II reveal gradually on the canvas, the artist's comments reveal his creation process and explain the great challenge of depicting one of the most known face on the whole planet.
