Synopsis
Forced from her home and trapped in the desolation of the outback, Morgan longs to return to the safety of her previous life. But unless she free herself from Johnny’s dark hold, his world will become forever hers.
Film notes
Set in drought-stricken, post WWII country Australia, Rain for Morgan captures both the beauty and the eerie other-worldliness of love in a dying landscape.
Based upon the mythological themes of the Celtic legend of Johnny Croy and the Mermaid, Rain for Morgan was written Melbourne based actor Fleur Murphy. The film was shot on location in Yabba North, Victoria, Australia, using some of Melbourne's best up and coming film talent, including actors Geordie Taylor, Erin Dewar, and Fleur herself in the title role.
Exploring the themes of isolation, belonging, and the dark power of a love gone wrong, Rain for Morgan combines stunning visuals with time lapse footage and underwater photography to create a world that balances precariously on the edge of reality and fantasy.
