Filmmaker Notes

"The All-American Alphabet" is an animated short I made in the 3rd year of the animation studies at Hogeschool Gent - KASK, in 2002. Our end-of-year films had to deal with the concept 'something that upsets me'. Now, there are countless things that upset me to some extent, but in the beginning of 2002 it dawned on me that the war against Iraq was nearing, and so I wanted to tell people about the genocide against the Iraqi population; estimations are that one and a half to two million people have died as a result of the thirteen-year embargo imposed by the United States.
