Phone Story

Mémo, a Kurdish immigrant, is managing a phone shop in Brussels. His curiosity and loneliness are pushing him to listen to his customers’ conversations. The arrival of the beautiful Leïla, a new customer Kurdish as well, calling her mother each day, is going to disturb the tranquility of Mémo’s daily routine. Mémo finds out that she’s coming from Turkish Kurdistan with the hope to find a husband, which will allow her to legally stay in Belgium. While listening to Leïla’s phone calls, Mémo is getting himself convinced that he could be the providential man she’s looking for.
