Drux Flux

Modern people are crushed by industry.

Film notes

Inspired by One-Dimensional Man, by philosopher Herbert Marcuse, the filmmaker deconstructs industrial scenes and their terrifying geometry to show the inhumanity of progress.

Inspired by a recently discovered score by the Russian composer Alexander Mossolow, who was banished to Siberia by Stalin, Theodore Ushev creates a vivid montage out of the totalitarian picture languages from the first half of the 20th century.
