A Life to Live

Synopsis
This film is about blind children being prepared for an independent life by teachers in a Centre for Blind People. Everyday things are often very complicated for them, but the children are not unhappy, on the contrary, they think that there are no barriers or limits for them.

Filmmaker Notes

Arriving in the center of Warsaw, I did not know the blind children there. I just behaved like the majority of the population – I was sorry for them. It didn't take me long, however, to realize how much joie de vivre and dreams those children have. And they made me smile more often than sad. It was a very important film for me, as I understood that it's the way we feel that decides if we are happy rather than that which we encounter.

Having seen my film, a viewer called to say that it changed his life. Can you imagine a better compliment now when nobody takes films seriously?
