(Ce n'est pas une) Chanson d'Amour

He is very much in love with her, perhaps unconditionally.
She feels that her love for him is weak, fragile.
She feels unable to cope with her inability to love him, the way he loves her.
She also discovers she is unable to free herself.
Even with this emptiness, even without feeling any love for him.

Film notes

Could we have an ‘unconditional love’ experience?
Could we give something away, when there is nothing coming back?

He is very much in love with her, but this feeling fits so perfectly in his heart...
So perfectly than he believes it’s taking care and protecting everything around, even this love... even himself.

She feels that her love for him is weak, fragile.
She feels unable to cope with her inability to love him, the way he loves her.

She makes some efforts to leave some signs…

But, she also discovers she is unable to free herself.

Even with this emptiness.
Even without feeling any love for him.

The tree, the sea, the old apartment, the piano, are the entrance doors of a thousand shadows castle, where the author comes to regain lost time, the boundaries between real and unreal.
Love is this sublime element, creating a ‘bridge’ between… but are we allowed to cross through at any time?
From major to minor, this 'lovesong' leaves us a real expression of what happens everyday in love, passion and relationship issues, in this world.
