Madan Mohan Khullar, a lover of old Hindi films and music, has decided to start his life afresh. The story begins at a night when the retired engineer has just finished planning his new routine. However, to begin a new day, one has to pass through a long night, and so must he. As the night unfolds, sleepless and echoing with a forgotten melody, the mundane details of Khullar’s life acquire a nostalgic significance. Then, there is his man-servant, a young rogue, tongue-in-cheek and the perfect foil for Khullar’s personality. Any catharsis continues to elude the forced loner as he remains tormented by an unfinished song.
