WorldFest Houston International Independent Film Festival

WorldFest Houston offers competition in 10 categories, to include Shorts, Features, Student, Experimental, Music Video, Documentary, New Media, TV Commercials, TV Production & Screenplays. Remi Awards and cash grants are made to winning films. All selected films receive support with complimentary VIP Platinum All-Festival Passes, special room discounts & more. The Remi Award is named after the great western Artist Frederic Remington, who captured the spirit of Texas & the American West. Prior winners of the Remi Award include Spielberg, Lucas, Ang Lee, Ridley Scott, The Coen Brothers, Francis Ford Coppola, Randal Kleiser, Spike Lee, David Lynch, Oliver Stone, & hundreds more. We screen Shorts and Features on big screens in the AMC Studio 30 Dunvale Theaters, not little meeting rooms. We offer 9 Master Classes in all aspects of film/video production, including a special NASA Master Class and a Drones in Filmmaking Master Class. The Festival Club is great networking.
50th edition

2017 | 21 - 30 April

All Remi winning Shorts and Feature Films are screened in the HQ AMC Studio 30 Dunvale Theaters, with theaters from 90 to 700 seats on big screens. This year our Panorama China has expanded to include for new short and feature films from China with a large contingent of Producers and Directors from Beijing and Shanghai. There is a nightly festival club in the HQ Marriott Westchase Hotel which is excellent for networking. 9 Master Classes in all aspects of film/video production are offered, including the Use of Free NASA Footage, Drone Production and Low Budget Special EFX. More than 1,000 intl filmmakers are expected to attend the ten-day festival. Another exceptional networking opportunity is the VIP tour of NASA Rocket Park and the WorldFest/Consular Sailing Regatta at HYC on Galveston Bay. We are inviting many of our discovery directors from the past 50 years of WorldFest, including Spielberg, Lucas, Ang Lee, the Coen Brothers, John Lee Hancock & Randal Kleiser, to mention a few.
