Fantoche: Internationales Festival für Animationsfilm Baden/Schweiz
Fantoche: International Animation Film Festival
Fantoche is the biggest animation show in Switzerland, drawing over 34,000 viewers to Baden during its six day run. Started in 1995 with the aim of enriching Switzerland's cultural scene with a international animation film festival, the event ever since has been well received by both professionals and the general public. The heart of the festival is its international competition in which especially innovative films by young directors are celebrated. Cash prizes are awarded.
In key theme programmes that change each year, Fantoche looks into individual aspects, themes or styles in animated film. From the plentiful crop of animated feature films on offer from around the world, Fantoche selects outstanding new releases and unique discoveries. The makers of the films are invited to come to Baden, where they offer an exciting glimpse behind the scenes of their projects. Industry professionals from Switzerland and further afield meet to exchange views.
